Rowana Slegers

Mijn naam is Rowana Slegers. 
Ik ben multi-disciplinair kunstenaar, fotograaf en kunst docent. 

Maken met mijn handen is als de adem in het leven. Ik laat mijn hart spreken door mijn handen. Ervarend leven, zo doe ik inspiratie op. 

Mij verhouden tot waarheden binnen culturen, religies, geschiedenis en visies biedt mij de garen, het spinnenwiel en het weefgetouw van het gewaad dat ik maak.

Opnieuw kom ik terug bij de natuur, de basis  van waaruit wordt geschapen. Zij is het water, de aarde, het vuur en de lucht.

Ik werk met textiel, fotografie, video, dans, beweging, performance, geluid en digital art. In opdracht maak ik textile art, kostuums, fotografische beelden, geluid, covers voor cd's, lp's, ep's en video's. 

Als ik luister, ligt mijn inspiratie in mijn handen. Mijn hart en ziel wijzen mij de weg.

My name is Rowana Slegers.
I am a multidisciplinary artist, photographer, and art teacher.

Creating with my hands is as the breath of life. 
I let my heart speak through my hands. By experiencing life, I find inspiration.

Engaging with truths within cultures, religions, history, and visions gives me the threads, the spinning wheel, and the loom for the garment I create.

Again and again, I return to nature, the foundation from which all is created. She is the water, the earth, the fire, and the air.

I work with textiles, photography, video, dance, movement, performance, sound, and digital art. On commission, I create textile art, costumes, photographic works, sound, covers for CDs, LPs, EPs, and videos.

When I listen, my inspiration rests in my hands. My heart and soul guide me.
